Cambodia waiting for visit of Thai National Assembly president

Prime Minister Hun Manet said that Cambodia is waiting to welcome the future visit of Wanmuhamadnoor Matha, President of the National Assembly and Speaker of the House of Representatives of Thailand.

The Cambodian Premier made the note when he paid a courtesy visit to Matha in Bangkok this afternoon, during his day-long official visit in Thailand.

In the courtesy meeting, the Thai NA president expressed his satisfaction with the good relations and cooperation in all fields between the two countries, hoping that this relationship will be further strengthened and expanded after this official visit.

In response, PM Hun Manet informed Matha of the outcomes of his bilateral talks with his Thai counterpart Srettha Thavisin, during which both sides agreed to upgrade the level of their bilateral ties from “Strengthening Partnership for Peace and Prosperity” to “Strategic Partnership” and were committed to boost the cooperation between the two neighbouring nations in key sectors such as diplomacy, security, national defence, trade and investment, people-to-people relations, and tourism.

The Prime Minister added that Matha will have more meetings with Hun Sen, former Cambodian Prime Minister, as he will stand for the 5th Senate Election on Feb. 25, 2024.AKP
